The Image1 Quality

The Image1 graphics are applied using exclusively Spies-Hecker urethane coatings. Some designs require hand pinstriping and or character brushwork and The Image1 artists maintain the highest quality standards in the industry. All paintwork is meticulously scrutinized prior to shipment. Our clear coat finish is slick as glass and overall quality is second to none.

About Us

The Image1 is a design studio and custom paint facility catering to motorsport racers and V-Twin enthusiasts. The Image1 ships worldwide and is located in the DFW Metroplex, just 15 minutes north of Fort Worth, Texas, and 45 minutes west of Dallas, Texas. The Image1 owner Jeff Long has over 20 years experience and has created the visual identity for thousands of customers.

Design and Custom Paint Heritage

While racing motocross throughout the ‘80s, Jeff began combining his eye for design with his need for speed by custom painting his own helmets. He quickly became known for his innovative graphics, and became the custom painter of choice for many of Texas’ top pros. Soon every racer had to have a custom painted helmet. Some of the racers Jeff worked with include:

  • Doug Polen- 1992 World Superbike Champion 
  • Matt Hines- Multi-time NHRA Pro Stock Drag Bike Champion
  • Dennis Hawthorne- 5x National Arenacross Champion
  • Dee Ann Wood- Multi-time Women's National Motocross Champion
  • "Wild" Bill Pointer- IJSBA Jet Ski National Champion
  • Greg Ray- 1999 IRL Champion
  • Leslie Porterfield- Land Speed Record Holder and "World's Fastest Woman"
  • Kyle Regal- AMA Supercross and Outdoor Nationals
  • Jimmy Albertson- AMA Supercross and Outdoor Nationals

But most significantly, Jeff has painted for thousands of sportsman racers competing in SCCA, NHRA, Motocross, Carting, Mountain biking, Legends, IMCA, local weekend warriors, and many other athletes’ protective helmets.

The early ‘90s custom V-Twin boom ushered in new clientele who wanted their custom motorcycle to really stand out. Jeff’s work was featured in magazines such as Easyriders, V-Twin, and Biker. Early to mid ‘90s customers included:

  • Rick Fairless- Texas custom motorcycle legend and TV star
  • Many of the Dallas Stars hockey team
  • Tim Edmondson- Co-founder of American IronHorse

In 1998, after 10 years as a custom paint entrepreneur, Jeff joined forces with Tim Edmondson at American IronHorse Motorcycle Company and helped build it into one of the premier American V-Twin custom motorcycle manufacturers. Over 14,000 American IronHorse Motorcycles received quality custom paint from Jeff’s department. He was also a key contributor in the design and marketing of the Company’s logo, brand recognition, and proprietary paint, wheel, and motorcycle designs. In 2007, Jeff co-designed American IronHorse’s redesigned Slammer model, which was immediately named V-Twin Magazine’s “2007 Bike of the Year”.

Jeff continues his involvement in motocross, both as a racer and recreational rider, as well as an avid mountain biker. His motocross racing background includes multiple amateur NMA and GNC titles, and racing experience in SCCA Formula 2000 and 125cc Shifter Carts.
